Recognizing Better Health Partnership’s Women Physician Leaders
In recognition of National Women Physicians Day, an annual observance held on February 3 that honors the pioneering achievements and ongoing contributions of female physicians in the healthcare field, Better Health Partnership greatly appreciates the following individuals who help advance our mission and vision to achieve exceptional health value and eradicate health disparities in Northeast Ohio.
Shanu Agarwal is a physician at Summa Health System and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team. She provides critical knowledge of the health needs of the Akron area and Summit County residents.
Nazleen Bharmal is a physician at Cleveland Clinic Health System and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team. She has contributed strongly to incorporating strategies related to community engagement, behavioral health, and social care referrals into our equity-centered goals for reducing adult health disparities.
Shari Bolen is a physician at MetroHealth Medical Center and the Director of Cardiovascular Disease Programs for Better Health Partnership. She leads several large-scale grant initiatives focused on improving health equity in cardiovascular and diabetes outcomes in Northeast Ohio.
Mary Gabriel is a physician at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and the Chair of Better Health Partnership’s Children’s Behavioral Health Subcommittee which convenes pediatricians, schools, and behavioral health experts to advance strategies for improving behavioral health outcomes for today’s youth.
Anne Gaglioti is a physician at MetroHealth Medical Center and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team. She provides deep expertise related to community engagement strategies designed to improve health outcomes with underserved populations disproportionately impacted by health inequities.
Melanie Golembiewski is a physician at Neighborhood Family Practice (NFP), a federally qualified health center (FQHC), and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team. She played a critical role in helping transform how health care was delivered for minority populations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Melissa Klein is a physician at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team providing insights on best practices derived from providing comprehensive quality healthcare and social services for veterans across Northeast Ohio.
Kristie Ross is a physician at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and serves on Better Health Partnership’s Children’s Leadership Team which convenes our member health systems to identify and disseminate best practices aligned with improving youth wellness. Dr. Ross also leads strategies for improving asthma-related outcomes for children.
Mamta (Mimi) Singh is a physician at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and the Chair of Better Health Partnership’s Adult Health Leadership Team which convenes our member health systems to identify and disseminate best practices aligned with reducing disparities in adult chronic disease.
Roopa Thakur is a physician at Cleveland Clinic who serves on Better Health Partnership’s Children’s Leadership Team and provides valuable contributions related to strategies for improving lead testing rates among children at risk for lead exposure.
