Better Health Partnership Names Dr. Robert Eick President & CEO
Robert Eick, MD, MPH, has been named the incoming President and CEO for Better Health Partnership, Northeast Ohio’s trusted regional health improvement collaborative that aspires to achieve exceptional health value and eradicate health disparities. He succeeds Rita Navarro-Horwitz, RN, who has served the organization since 2011 and will be retiring at the end of 2024.
“Robert brings significant expertise designing and implementing innovative value-based models to advance quality improvement and a commitment to equity-centered community health initiatives focused on addressing the social drivers of health. His leadership and established state and national partnerships will help accelerate Better Health Partnership’s efforts to harness the power of collaboration for healthier communities,” Jim Weisman, chair of Better Health’s board of directors, said in a prepared statement.
Dr. Robert Eick is a physician leader and health policy expert with over a decade of experience with social drivers of health, health equity, health system management, value-based care delivery models, Medicaid and Medicare innovation, and payer and provider engagement. He is committed to building inclusive relationships, fostering collaboration, providing mentorship, and co-creating and driving strategic vision to improve health outcomes and reduce inequities.

Dr. Eick holds a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from the Physician Leadership Development Program at the Boonshoft School of Medicine, Wright State University, in Dayton, Ohio. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University.
A native of Carroll County, Robert is grateful for the opportunity to return home to Northeast Ohio and to join the Better Health Partnership team as its President and CEO. Robert’s official hire date is set for November 18, 2024.
