November 2017 | Better Health Data Center

Better Health Partnership’s first public report on children’s health includes measures on obesity and blood pressure reported for 151,749 kids seen between April 2016 and March 2017 in five Notheast Ohio health systems.

Childhood obesity is the most common chronic disease in children, frequently goes undiagnosed, and reliably results in chronic disease in adulthood. This inaugural report represents an important step in our collaborative work to improve children’s health. The data provide a baseline on which to act, identifying gaps that become opportunities to improve and exceptional achievements that become best practices to disseminate.

We thank members of our Clinical Advisory Committee’s subcommittee on childhood obesity, which was led by Drs. Michelle Medina and Heidi Gullett, and the health systems that share their data, expertise and time in service of a healthier community.
